Weekly Roundup for February Fifteenth

In the past seven days, Marco Rubio went robo-mode, a lot of people realized how unfortunately futile it probably is to #feeltheBern due to superdelegates, and a giant of the legal world passed away.

But enough yammering — here’s some good music.

Sawtooth – The River Because / Please Excuse Me (4th Ave Blues)
Sawtooth is a folky, spacey americana band from Olympia, Washington. They self-released their (quite good) debut record, Post-Americana, via their Bandcamp page a couple months ago.

Caveman – Never Going Back
Here’s some driving, rhythmic indie rock care of Brooklyn. Caveman’s third record, Otero War, is due later this summer.

Carter Tanton – Twentynine Palms (feat. Sharon Van Etten)
And maybe some pleasantly mesmerizing indie rock from Baltimore’s Carter Tanton. Jettison the Valley is due out 3/4. Thanks to Adam over at songsfortheday for the heads up on this one.

Private Island – Drugs
Releasing a pool-ready summer jam in the dead of winter? You could call it odd, or even “seasonally inappropriate”. But when it’s this rollicking and catchy, you’ll probably allow it.

Dr. Dog – Bring My Baby Back
Another year, another solid album, another great single. These fellas make it all seem easy. The Psychedelic Swamp is out now.

Until next week, cheers.
