The Ballroom Thieves – Down by the River / Wild Woman

The Ballroom Thieves are a Boston-based acoustic trio. Their SoundCloud page describes them as “a rock band disguised as a folk band”, and that sounds about right.

Take a little early Avetts, some of the Civil Wars, add a healthy dose of footstomps and cello, and you’ll have an idea of what to expect.

Relix.com recently premiered an outstanding song called “Wild Woman” from their upcoming full-length debut titled A Wolf in the Doorway. You’ll have to click over to Relix to hear “Wild Woman”, but it’s worth it.

A Wolf in the Doorway is due on April 21st.

In the meantime, you can hear a song from their self-titled EP below.

RIYL: good music, A Carolina Jubilee-era Avetts, footstomps & handclaps, Langhorne Slim
