Saintseneca – Uppercutter

Saintseneca is an indie folkish rockish band from Columbus, Ohio. They use all kinds of weird acoustic instruments in their songs, like balalaikas, mandolins, dulcimers, Turkish Baglamas, and various things that might only be classified as “floor percussion”. If you recognize three of those things, you’re doing better than me. But they write some good songs. And the lead singer has facial hair that might be even more ridiculous than Foy Vance’s moustache.

Saintseneca’s second album, “Dark Arc”, was released earlier this year and can be purchased right here.

RIYL: good music, The Violent Femmes, Built to Spill, vague references to Mike Tyson’s Punch Out (?)
