Chet Faker is an Australian “electro-soul” artist (someone else’s description). He looks like Ray Lamontagne, but his music sounds like a bizarre mix of Bon Iver and D’Angelo.
He first gained notoriety a couple years ago for this cover of “No Diggity”. (Yes, that “No Diggity“.)
As you’ll see in the video, Mr. Faker also owes a nod to Peter Gabriel, who did the whole “big head with some weird, cool effects” thing 25 years ago. (Had to do the math twice to verify that “Sledgehammer” really is that old.)
